There is a Chill in the Air!

I think Autumn is finally going to show up, and get all these green leaves out of here.  So many warm days!  Who would have thought that the A.C. would be running at the end of October?  Anyway, with Fall in mind I created this card, and had a fun time doing so.

It starts with a kraft base and a piece of designer paper from American Crafts.  Next I used a Darice embossing folder of a barn and inked it in Crumb Cake ink.  I ran it through the Cuttlebug, and then used a water brush to color the barn doors red, then cut it out.  I was thinking about my My Favorite Things corn stalk die and had to get that in there, also.  I also added a fence, and a pumpkin die.  My mouse and sentiment are also from MFT, and is called Harvest Mouse.  I love that adorable set!

This will be entered over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is Anything Goes.

That is all I have for this sunny Saturday.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Another Fun Sketch!

Happy Tuesday!  I woke this morning and was excited to see the new sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches #426.  Last week got away from me and I was not able to play along.  I jumped right on this, today!

I used a new Darice embossing folder that I found at Tuesday Mornings.  Totally decided to go with that watercolor effect, so I colored on the folder with my Spectrum Aqua pens, and added a spritz of water.  I then ran it through the Cuttlebug.  My stamps are something I picked up reasonably on Ebay and they were stamped and cut out with a Gina Marie stitched circle.  The deer was colored with a water brush and the same markers.  The outlines are Hero Arts Intense Black ink, as is the sentiment, from the same stamp set.  Quick and easy!

This will also fit the challenge at Shopping Our Stash #326  Get Sketchy... Use any sketch... mine is above!

I like to follow directions so as per my lovely commenter, I am adding this to the Crop Stop October Link Party #33

I have the divine pleasure of being off today, so I may see you again soon!

I was ever so lucky to score a win with this card... Thank You, Crop Stop!

Playing with a New Folder!

Happy Hump Day!  Today I have a card that is on the Clean and Simple side.  It uses a Darice embossing folder that was coated in Distress Oxide inks, and run through the Cuttlebug.  I added some diamond stickles to the peacock eyes and some tiny gems.  My sentiment is stamped in Oxides, also, and isfrom Hot Off The Press Heartfelt Greetings set.  The panel is mounted on a layer of purple Basic Grey paper from my stash.

That is it for now.  I will be searching for a challenge to enter this in.  Have a lovely, Autumn day!

Spooky Owl

The dark and spooky season is upon us.  Time to make all those fun Halloween cards.  Today I have a card that will fit a few of the challenges I like to enter.

I am using the very popular new owl die that is all the rage, layered on cross stitched die panel of Halloween web paper from my scrap bin.  I gave this owl some gem eyes, and a chipboard sentiment from an old kit.  My corner is a bow made from beautiful double sided satin ribbon with a sparkly, fright night flower.  I created the cracked background with a Darice crackled embossing folder.

This was made for this weeks sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches, #424.

I would also like to take this over to the challenge at Double D Challenges for their Fright Night Challenge.

So much fun!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  Mine is very relaxing, and we are doing as we please!  It is our 40th wedding anniversary, and I figure we deserve a little low key fun.  Thanks for visiting!

Christmas Cottage.

When I saw that the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge was for Christmas, I was thrilled.  I have been making Christmas all year long, and just keeping it handy.  Woo Hoo!

Today I have a card that I thoroughly enjoyed making.  The main images is from Stampendous, and is called Christmas Cottage.  My background is a script background stamp from Stamp Camp, which was stamped with Distress Inks.  I used a die from Lawn Fawn's scalloped borders to create the effect down the side.  Coloring was done with Spectrum Aqua Pens and a water brush.  A week bit of diamond Stickles were added for sparkle.  There is foam tape popping it from the background.

I would also like to add my B&W version, using the same stamp!  This will be  entered  over at Little Red Wagon for their Classic Black and White Challenge.

Not sure how it got to be Friday once again, but here it is!  I am looking forward to a nice weekend with both kids and families visiting.  Planning on doing some fall stuff!  Hope you have fun, whatever you do.

EeeeK!

I have completed another card for this week, and that is far better then my recent track record.  Today, I have an offering for this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketches # 423.  This week the sketch is offered by Janice Melton, who does amazing work!

This card really came about by using up bits from my Halloween bin.  I started with a black card, and stamped a white panel with a huge spider web stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps.  It was stamped with Tangelo Twist ink from SU!.  I die cut two sizes of circles with Gina Marie dies, from scraps of grey and a printed paper I found on Pinterest.  The sentiment and the strip of spider paper were from a 6x6 pad by Pebbles called Boo.  The embellishment were a gathering.  The 3D cat and sugared candy corn are stickers (?), the faceted orange flowers are KI Memories, and I finished with an orange twine bow from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Phew!  I am amazed that I still know where most of this stuff is from!

Hope you enjoy what I made for you.  We are back into summer like temps here in PA, and it is crazy to be worrying about dressing cool.  Guess it is better then paying for heating oil.  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Last Day of NBUS #12

Darnell has been such a gracious hostess for her ever famous NBUS Challenge.  This will be my third, and final entry for it.  I created this card for our dearest of friend, who is going through treatment for Cancer.  He has a wonderful sense of humor, and is also the person who shows love to our dogs, if we have to leave town.  He also set up my husband and I, all those years ago.  We will be married 40 years this month.

Anyway, the assortment of card stocks are from Bazzill, with the NBUS part of my creation being the stamps.  I used the new Art Impressions set called Doggie Kisses, which also included that cute band aid.  Those, I fussy cut and coated with glossy accents.  The inside sentiment is "On the Bright Side, You Don't Need A Cone"!  He really did get a chuckle out of that.  I used a combo of Copic and colored pencils to color things.

So without further hesitation, let me link this up to Darnell's NBUS #12, at DJKardKreations, and say I can not wait for the next challenge.  Thanks for stopping by!
