Getting a Jump on Christmas!

Today, I used this weeks sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I have been trying real hard to make a fresh Christmas card everyday, so I do not get behind at the end.

Here is the sketch that was used.  I hope you enjoy what I came up with! The following is a list of what I used:

Papers:  White card stock, designer paper from American Crafts Jolly Collection, and silver foil card for cutting.

Embossing:  Folder from Darice.

Ink:  Soft Sky from SU! Versamark and silver embossing.

Stamps:  Hero Arts, Holiday Sayings.

Die:  Ebay

Embellishments:  Enamel dots from SU!

That is it for today.  Hope it is a good one!  Praying for Texas.

Trying This Weeks Sketch!

I have been very bad, once again with keeping posts going on my blog.  I am so sorry, but life keeps getting in the way.

This week I wanted to try the new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches # 417.  Here is what I used:

Dies:  The lattice flower spray are from Ebay, the sentiment is from Sizzix, Stitched Ovals are from MFT and the tiny poinsettia die, in the center of my bow, are from Poppy Stamps

Paper:  Basic white card base, designer paper is from Pebbles Welcome Christmas Collection.

Embellishments:  Gems and Pearls are Recollections, Ribbon from Michael's, Glossy Accents.

Inks:  SU! Real Red and Gumball Green.  I sponged the oval and water brushed with the ink on my spray

That is it for today.  I thank you for visiting me, and wish you a great week.

ABC

I ran across a new to me challenge, called the ABC Christmas Challenge.  Since I had only posted this fun card on FB, I decided to put it up on my blog and play along!  For this challenge you get to choose from the following:

P is for People
Q is for quick
R is for red

All must have a Christmas theme, and you may chose one or combine all three letters!

I have decided to go for P is for people!  Although I do not know the maker of these Eskimo stamps, I just had to use them.  They were bought in a collection and are mounted on cling.  I've colored them with colored pencils to keep the colors soft, and used assorted dies which I cut and sponged in blue ink.  My sentiment is from Hero Arts.  My embellishments are Blue gems and Martha large flake glitter.

Thanks for stopping by, and hope to see you again soon!

TMS #415

Good morning, and happy weekend!  Today I have a card for the Tuesday Morning Sketches # 415.  I have been working on Halloween cards so I decided to go with that theme.  I was such a great sketch to work with!

My designer papers are from Pebbles and the pad is called BOO.  I created my angled piece with white punched with a MS cobweb border punch, and lined it with black.  I die cut a vine and spiderweb to create my cluster, did a Tim Holtz rub on spider from his Apothecary collection, and a spooky flower from Recollections.  My sentiment was a vellum sticker.

I hope you enjoy what I made, and that you visit the TMS website and see all the beautiful inspiration!

Splatter it !

Well I went to see what Simon Says Stamp had in mind for their Wednesday Challenge.  That is when I found out the idea was to splatter it.  Hmmmm, what to do?  I decided that instead of flinging paint or ink, that I would go a different way, and use a stamp and some die cuts.  It is still splatter for sure!

I started with a charcoal card base, and then created my splatter panel using and old Art Gone Wild stamp with Intense Black ink.  I sponged the edge with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  I found a splatter die cut and coated it with Glossy Accents, also coated some of the smaller dots on the background to create texture.  When my die cut was dry, I popped it up on foam tape.  I then added my words that are called Brushstroke Birthday Greetings, from MFT.  For still more texture I added some black sequins.

A different way to attack the situation!  The weather is so refreshing this weekend, I do believe it has brought my brain back to life.  Thanks very much for stopping by!

A New Sketch!

Good morning and Happy Friday!  I have been a wee bit scarce, again.  Seems that everyone that I hold dear, has been in a health crisis lately.  I decided to take a little time this morning to create something and I saw this fine sketch challenge that I want to give a try.

I have to admit that the card is rather simple but I love how it came out.  I used mostly items that have been sitting, and that always makes me feel good.  The card starts with a black base, and I took a panel of white, embossed it with a crackle folder, and sponged the edges with some Tangelo Twist ink.  My scrap bins are enormous, so I dug until I found some left over strips of Halloween papers.  The 2 stamps used are actually from Michael's $2 bin and I think they will be getting lots of use.  I used a strip of oozing goo die with a bit of Diamond Stickles for sparkle.  That is all there is to it!

This will be entered in the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches  #299 by Kim.

Here is hoping that you have a weekend full of fun times and good company!  See you soon!
