Frosty Holiday.

I have finally made an appearance on my blog!  Sorry about that, I am behind on just about everything this holiday season.  Guess some years you have to cut yourself some slack!

Today I would like to enter a card over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge  Ice Inspiration!

This card uses a white card base, and pieces of Bazzill pre-embossed reversible card stock.  I stamped images from Impression Obsession on to water color paper and colored with my waterbrush.  The sentiment is a older rub on I found in my stash, and sparkle was added with diamond Stickles, sequins and tiny gems.

Hope that everyone is moving forward with their holiday chore.  Enjoy the prep!

Thankful!

This week my card is a perfect example of how I like to combine stamps from different companies.  My owl is from Hero Arts.  The framed sentiment is from Unity Stamps.  The wood background is All Night Media.  This lovely plaid paper is from Bo Bunny, I do believe.  The die cut branch is from Memory Box.  I added Glossy Accents for a little sparkle.  My inks are Distress and Copic Marker.  I used one of my older oak leaf punches out of the designer plaid, as embellishments.

I will be entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Thanks/Thanksgiving.

I would Also like to enter this at the Mod Squad Challenge-Thankful.

Last but not least, I would like to take this playful owl over to Pixie's Snippets Playground #254, where it is all snippets, all the time!

Today is also Veteran's Day, and I would like to thank all of our service persons, past and present, for their service.  God bless you all.

Thinking of You

Here is a quick little entry for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is thinking of you.  I used my Stamps by Judith and lots of tid bits to pull it all together.  My papers are K & Co. and the inks used are Memento and Copic markers.  Also used a few embellishments from my desktop.  They are sequins, twine, pearls, mini flowers and an MS butterfly punch.

Have a wonderful fall weekend, everyone!

It Really Looks Like Fall!

I think fall is the perfect time to day dream.  I love to look out the windows and watch the leaves drift down one by one.  Although the temps have been a little weird, going up and down from heavy frost to 80 degrees, there are some pretty colors to be see.

Today's card is a little off the mark, using un-traditional colors!  I decided to use blue, orange and teal in SU! inks.  My stamps are from Unity KOM of August 2013.  I fussy cut my leaves and popped them up.  I was thrilled when I found the perfect shade of washi tape to add to my leafy background.  For embellishments I added a bow made of chenille and pretty toned sequins.

I would like to enter this card for:

Double D Challenges  Harvest Blessings/Give Thanks

Color Q Challenge#366

Little Red Wagon # 366 Happy Fall Y'all.  They have great challenges!

Enjoy yourself, and this gorgeous blessing of a fall!

Making a Scene!

I think, if I had to choose my very favorite way you make a card, it would be to create a scene.  Today I have a card for you where I did exactly that.

The things I used:

Card stock:  kraft, mustard, and white
Stamps:  Crazy Birds by TH, Outhouse stamp by Rubber Cottage.  Sentiment is unknown.
Inks:  Distress Inks, Copic markers
Extras:  Glossy Accents

I would like to enter this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where it is Anything Goes week.

The weeks are just zooming by, and before long we will be in full blown holiday mode.  Please enjoy a great Fall weekend!

Think Pink!

Behold the use of pink.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in honor of those who have won, lost or are still fighting their battle, I made this card.  It is CAS, using only a card base, one layer of designer paper, and a single SU! stamp set called Work of Art.  My inks are Distress Ink and Versafine for the sentiment.  A simple enamel heart is used to embellish.

I will be entering this over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge called "Think Pink".

We are seeing fallish weather this weekend, and I sure hope it motivates me to get some chores done around here.  What do you have planned?

I Love Plaid!

This card was created for the Double D Challenge which is to use plaid.  Plaid gives everything a boost.  This is their inspiration photo.

Here is the lineup of what was used:

Cardstock:  Crumb Cake from SU!, Lipstick Red from Gina K. Designs, White from Neenah
Inks:  Distress Inks in Fire Brick and Frayed Burlap
Stamps:  Background from SU! and sentiment from SU! Holiday Home.
Dies:  Deer from Penny Black, background circle from Gina Marie, love word from in'spire by SB.
Embellishments:  random red gems, courrigated scrap.

I would also like to enter this card at Merry Monday Challenge #218 which is also Plaid.

How can we possibly have temps in the high 80's?  Well it sounds like today will be the last
of it.  I am seriously ready for fallish temps and pretty colors.  Have a wonderful Hump Day!

I Just Keep Getting Lost.

I keep promising to be more blog active, but it just does not seem to be working.  I decided today was the day to show a card I made this week.  The challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Halloween Inspiration,  and they had some great inspiration!

This card has quite the combo of paper, dies, and stamps.
Stamps:  Pumpkin is a very old PSX stamp that I love.  Sentiment is SU! set called Tags for You.
Dies: Lawn Fawn stitched leaves.
Paper:  kraft card and designer paper from We R Memory Keepers.
Inks:  Copic markers and Distress Inks.
Embellishments:  Glossy Accents and corrugated trim

I would also like to enter this card at Double D Challenges, where the theme is Pumpkin Time.

Also, Tuesday Throwdown #314 is Leaves.  I thought this would work!

It is suppose to be another gorgeous fall day here in PA.  I hope to get out and enjoy!  My thoughts and prayers go out to the people who have or will be in the path of Matthew.  Please heed all warnings and value life over property.

Blog Hop....2016 Fall Coffee Lovers

I made the gift tag for the Unity Show and Tell closed group. and was encouraged to enter it in the 2016 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, since Unity is a sponsor.  How wonderful to have found this!
The stamps used are from the June 2014 KOM from Unity.  I used white embossing and water colors on my image, and the designer paper is from my stash.  Just a wee bit if sequins and bright blue ribbon finish it off..  Thought this would look great on a pound of special brew!

Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

Let's Catch Up!

Hi everyone!  It been a bit since I have posted.  I assume you are expecting a card, so here goes.  This was made from mostly items I found during my recent craft room purge.  Scraps, bits, digi's, and stamped images.  I made a retirement card for my stash.  Had to get my feet wet some how.  I find it hard to get back into stamping once I take a break, how about you?

The dies I used are my new seaweed die from Gina Marie and my stitched rectangles from MFT.  I used a new sequins assortment from Little Things from Lucy's Cards.  I was inspired by the glitz you see when the sand is dry on the beach.

The reason I was absent is due to a makeover in my craft room.  It was a rough few weeks of trying to decide what stays and what goes.  Only thing that made it easier is that I donated to an adult daycare so they can be creative.  I am pleased and my DD and DH deserve all the credit in the world for pushing me along.

I also want to update on my Jessie Girl and her surgery, since everyone was very kind and asking about her.  She is still wearing a blow up tube around her neck, since she is is being stubborn and insists she is going to lick if we remove it.  Just a tiny spot yet and a good bath will be wonderful for all concerned... LOL....phew!  She is as sick of this as we are.

Thanks for stopping by and I promise to be a little more regular with posts!  Also, happy first day of fall!

A Whole Bunch of "Who Knows"!

As I have said a zillion times before, I have so many unmounted stamps that I have no clue of the maker.  This was a huge ebay buy from years ago.  I like to give credit, but I am at a loss when I use these stamps.  The unmounted's include the bowl with scene, the sea horse, and the school of fish in the background.  The sentiment is digital and cut out by hand.  The embellishment are burlap and clear Dew Drops, Mounting foam and designer paper from my scrap bin, finish this project.  I just thought it was too pretty not to share.

I will take this card over to Pixie's Snippets Playground #243, where it is snippets all the time!

On not such a happy note, can I please ask for prayers for our 8 1/2 yr. old Black Lab, Jessie Girl.  She had a cancer diagnosis yesterday and will be facing surgery very soon.  She is such a sweet girl and was an absolute angel while they poked and prodded.

True Friend

Today I have a card that was created with a Penny Black kitty image given to me by a friend.  I decided it would best be used to create a friendship card.  I have been working hard and using things I have been hoarding in my craft space.  This card also includes a background I created using up some scraps of glossy paper.  It uses the baby wipe and re-inker technique.  I made them in all different colors while I was t it.  I have a heart doily, some enamel dots as embellishment.  I honestly do not remember where the sentiment is from.  There is also some sponging and coloring was done with Copic Markers.

I would like to take this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground #242, where it is snippets all the time.

Well I am off into the steam bath to complete another day of work.  It is sure a lot of work stocking a new store!  since it is 3 to 4 x the size of our last one, I almost feel like a need a Segway or scooter to get around!  Have a great day!

SSS Wednesday Challenge

This week the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp is called Let's Go Wild.  I decided to use a My Favorite Things paper pad and Pure Innocence stamp set called Wild About You.  My stitched oval dies are also from MFT.  She is colored in Copic Marker and sponged with light ink.  Two tiny enamel dots were used as embellishment.

We are in the midst of what feels like a tropical heat wave, so I will slither out to work and back very quickly.  I recommend the least amount of movement possible!  Enjoy!

Going to the Dogs!

Here is a quick post of a treat sack I made to give to a lady at work.  She really appreciates the things I make for her, since she is a fellow Doxie mom.  sometimes the simplest things put a smile on a persons face.

It was created with the Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs, Distress Inks, and some of the oldest bits from my stash.  Scraps of ribbon, sticky back buttons, shipping tag, but the best is how I did the name.  I found these rub on tiny letters that you could use on brads.  Hence they are called Bradware...  who knows where they came from.

Glad it is hump day, and hope everyone is perking along.  Thanks for the visit!

I Have Been a Slacker!

I guess that just because my job has moved to a new location, I have been working extra hours,  and it has been hotter than the hinges of hell, I have no excuse for neglect.  Sorry.

Today I have a card which I made quite some time ago, and never posted.  I really thought these stamps were adorable.  They are from Rubber Cafe and called Labrador Love.  I embossed the background with white powder.  The floral background is from Stamp Camp and was purchased at a show.  I added some squares turned on point for my background, and they are created with papers from Tim Holtz Shabby Chic collection.I found a piece of flocked ribbon, some twine, and a matching button as embellishments.  There is also stardust pen on the wings.

My DGS was helping our Lab, Jessie cool off!  She was having no parts of Brian having that cooling pool to himself!

I would like to take this card over to Pixie's Snippets Playground #240.  Since I gathered from every stash in the craft room, I think this might work!

I will also take this over to MFP Stamp Challenge #31, which is anything goes.

Have a great rest of the week, and thanks for stopping around.

A Second Post for Today.

I ran across a challenge over at Mark's Finest Paper, (MFP for short), and it looked like fun, so I decided to give it a try.  If you are looking for my first post, please click HERE.

The challenge is #29 and is to follow a tutorial for a No Template Rocker Card...!  I was right, it was fun.  I used the MFP set called Buried Treasure and went to town with Distress Ink, a card base and scraps.  My embellishment is a button with hemp twine.  My circles were cut with Gina Marie dies.

I liked the dots but decided to make it look a little more vintage by adding some inking over the designer paper.  I thought the pirate map from the set worked well.

Thanks for letting me steal another little part of your day.  Smile and keep cool!

Things with Wings

I do not know about you, but I seem to go through my stash of comfort cards quickly.  I think this has to be one of my favorites I have ever made.  I recently purchased this Heron die from Gina Marie Designs.  I also used this Tall Grass die from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and the with sympathy words from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  It is hard to believe this entire card was made with scraps from my bin.  I even used the negatives from the grass as a stencil on my background with some sponging.  It also uses the negative from a circle die cut to frame my little scene, and an extra punched circle for the sun.  Did I miss anything?

I would like to take this over to the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Things with Wings

Pixie's Snippets Playground #238:  Always use snippets

Use Your Stuff #230:  Die Cuts/ and or Punches

I hope you do not get sick of seeing me use this die.  Even the negative pieces make excellent silhouettes and places to put patterned
paper.  I give this die a thumbs up!  Tell me what you think.

A Clean and Simple Card

I created this CAS card the other day while daydreaming about this summer being half over.  With all the heat, it has made for lazy days.  Salad has become a major meal and the tots in the neighborhood have moved their playing indoors.  I saw this challenge over at The Paper Players and thought this might fit in.  The official title is PP304 A Clean and Simple Challenge from Jaydee.

The card base is an aqua stock from my bin.  I created a background panel with Brusho's and cut it with a Lil Inkers stitched rectangle die.  My pinwheel and sentiment are from a stamp set called Pinwheels and Popsicles by Flourishes lc.  I added some sparkle with diamond Stickles and a sticky silver half pearl.

Make the best of your Hump Day and enjoy!

For a Couple of Challenges

This first card is using Unity stamps.  I always like Black and White cards, as I find them so striking.

I would like to enter this one for the Crafting by Design Challenge, which is Black and White.

My next card is a summertime card I created in honor of Shark Week.  LOL!  I used a great set from Newton's Nook, called Shark Bites.  Cloud stamps are from Art Impressions.  I did white embossing and watercolors and the sun was made by using a negative of a die cut as a stencil.  There was sparkle added with a Stardust pen.

This I would like to enter at Little Red Wagon #349..... It's Summertime!

That is it for now.  I am going to attempt to organize this stamp room a bit, today.  (cough cough)  Have a wonderful beginning to your weekend!

The apple with worm is a digi image from A Day for Daisies.  The papers were from my bin, and I added Glossy Accents to the wiggly worm!

Use a Stencil

Today I have a card which I created with some fun stencils I found at Tuesday Mornings.  They are from Tattered Angels.  They are called "seaside/under the sea" Glimmer Screens.  I added a digital fish that was from Pinterest, a few glitter gems from Recollections, a sentiment from Rubbernecker Stamps.  My background was made with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die.  A plain pink card is my base.  The fish was colored with a water brush and Distress Inks and the coral background was also done with the same inks.

I would like to enter this at:

Less Is More:  Recipe Challenge #282 which is Use a Stencil

Good Old Summertime!

Today is the first day of Summer, and the temps are holding true as they zoom into the 90's.  This is a card I made recently for my GS as he prepared to spend a week at the beach. Just had to slip him a little boardwalk cash!  I found this adorable pre-colored image in my stash.  I added clouds and sand with Art Impressions stamps and a stitched sun from Lil Inkers.  I used SU! inks to sponge the background.

Here is a picture of the real think as he romps the beach with his cousins.  So sweet!

I could not find any challenges to add this to, but I thought it was too cute not to share.  Hope all the father's had a relaxing day, yesterday.  Start your week with a smile and thanks for the visit.

Using My Snippets!

Happy Tuesday morning, friends.  Today I have a card for you that uses a mess of leftovers from my desk.  It is funny how all of a sudden you realize that you have been working in the same color family for a bit!  LOL!  Here is a card I would like to take over to Pixie's Snippets Playground for Challenge # 233.

This card came about as I needed a good luck send off  for a sweet lady at work.  She helps with the student program we are involved with at work.  She is just not sure she will be back next year, so I did not want to miss the op to tell her she is appreciated.

The background was created with strips of designer papers on an ivory card base.  My fish is a digi image from "color pages for mom", found on Pinterest. It was colored with Copic markers and I added sparkle with a stardust pen.  My sentiment is nameless, but I stamped with Distress Ink on an ivory punched, scalloped oval and popped up after doing some piercing.  There are ivory flowers with SU! centers, which I also inked, and Dew Drops as bubbles coming from my fish.  I added some pretty cotton lace that was given to me ages ago by my friend Carol, to add a little bit of different texture.

That is it for me!  Off to work early, and home again for more fun!  We have been having a small run of nice, cooler weather, and it is quite enjoyable!

Wedding Theme

Here is a card which I created for the Cuttlebug Mania Challenge and their theme of Wedding.  At Cuttlebug Mania, the requirement is to use a manual die cut machine.  Since I use my Cuttlebug for everything, this was not a problem.  My dies used are Lawn Fawn's Stitched Scalloped Borders, and Gina Marie's Flourished Swans.  They were a surprise giftie from a dear friend!

My sentiment stamp is an unknown and my papers are all from my stash.  I used Vintage Photo DI to stamp and sponge my edges.  There is a Want 2 Scrap gem swirl to add a bit of bling.

You may just see me again today.  It is extremely warm, and although my hubby keeps asking me what I would like to do today, I think I shall stay in and be cool!  Thanks for the visit!

Two Cards, Two Challenges!

Let me start with a simple card for Cards 4 Guys # 123.  Their challenge is Fathers Day.

Here is what was used:
White and navy card stock
Stamps: SU! older set called Seaside, and a Father's Day sentiment from MSE set called Father's                       Day Innies and Outties
Inks: Memento pads and reinkers in Danube Blue and Potters Clay

The sponged background was made using the re-inkes on baby wipes with a dab dab.  Images were fussy cut and popped up.

My second card is for Little Red Wagon #345 Tag You're It!  This card had lots of steps but was so much fun to create.  I recently borrowed some older stamp sets from my DD.  They are There She Goes stamps. I believe this company is not longer in business.

Supplies:
Papers:  White and purple card stock, and light purple vellum
Stamps:  TSG set called Garden of Friends
Dies: In'spire dies by SB  called Celebration Two.  Also Fanciful Flourish from Cheery Lynn
Inks:  Distress Inks in Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint
Embellishments:  Washi Tape, wrinkle ribbon, glitter gems

The background was created with the flower stamp  and then run through the Cuttlebug with the swirl embossing folder.

Thanks so much for visiting and I have a great second half to you're week!

Those Silly Birds!

Here is another card I created using scraps from my desktop and those wonderful, zany Bird Crazy stamps!  This card starts with a kraft base which I stenciled with Distress Ink and a gear stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.  There are 2 more layered panels stenciled with the same and embossed with a dotted swiss folder.  The actual gears are created from the same scraps and popped up for dimension. Those are made with Spellbinder dies.  I computer generated the sentiment and hand boxed each word.  I added the hat to my bird using the accessories stamp kit, and glazed his goofy eyes with crystal accents.  I get very excited when there is a masculine card to add to my stash!

I would like to enter this  at Just Us Girls # 346 Birds, also at Pixie's Snippets Playground #232, where we always use our snippets!  Also, Cards in Envy has a challenge for No Girls Allowed that this might fit into.

Another week has come and gone, and the spring is sliding into summer.  Hope all is well in your neck of the woods and you enjoy the week ahead.

Butterfly Challenge #55

Here is a card that I created for my DD on Mother's Day.  I just thought it was so pretty I wanted to share.  The challenge at Butterfly Challenge is the letter A is for Apricot or Aperture.  I am going with the Apricot!

This list is what was used.  Designer polka dot paper, and a digital piece with flutterbys that I printed. That was found on Pinterest.  I used a stitched oval die from MFT, which was watercolored.  The butterfly is a new die from Gina Marie, which was also watercolored.  The sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps, and is an oldie.  I am just unsure of the black flowers I stamped, but I found that they were an older set from SU! called Stem Silhouettes.

Thanks for taking a look, and I hope You are having a fabulous week!

Use a Unity Itty Bitty

This week the challenge on FB for Unity is to use an Itty Bitty stamp set.  In this case, I had to use 2, since the one that inspired me did not have a sentiment.  I stamped my rocket ship on blue card stock using VersaMark and sprinkled with silver embossing powder.  I found scraps of printed designer paper to paper piece the flames and parts of the rocket.  I added Glossy Accents to the porthole.  My white panel is the negative from cutting out a stitched oval.  I distressed the edges with Faded Jeans DI.  I added some crystal stars, and mounted the panel on a piece of embossed orange with white core, using a sizzix embossing folder.  Lastly is an A2 piece of paper from Imaginisce.

The 2 Itty Bitty sets are called You Did It and Up, Up and Away.

Thanks for the visit, and I hope this holiday weekend was all that you hoped for.

SSS Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes!

Here is to the beginning of a lovely Memorial weekend.  Hope if you have big plans, that they go off without a hitch.  Mine is going to be a bit hectic, so I wanted to get a post up before I don't get back here.

This is a birthday card that I created for my very best girlfriend's birthday, last week.  We have been friends for 41 years now.  If it were not for her and her DH, I would have never met my hubby!  She is the best, and is that person you can count on at the drop of a hat.

This was made with all scraps of paper, and even the ribbon is a snip.  I used a small SB die for the sentiment panel and the sentiment is from D.O.T.S..  Do you remember them?  Probably one of the very first stamps I bought!  I outlined inside the die with a Marvy marker.  As for the balloons, they are SU! stamps from a set called Balloon Celebrations, and they were punched with the new balloon punch from SU.  I added a few coordinating sequins for sparkle.  I am truly in love with this color combo.

I will be taking this over to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Anything Goes.
Also to Pixie's Snippets Playground #230, where it is all snippets, all the time!

Thanks for the visit, and have a great, safe holiday weekend.

A Unity Girl Card

The Show and Tell Challenge on FB for Unity, this week, is to use any Unity girl stamp.  This pretty lady is from the December of 2014 Kit of the Month.

I stamped her on watercolor paper using Stazon , and went to town coloring her with my water  color pens from Spectrum Aqua.  The card base is Bazzill with a layer of designer paper from MME.  I added punched hearts, aqua brads, some delicate lace and a touch of Stickles for a frosty feel.

Am I crazy for working with a chilly weather stamp?  Hey the way it has been going, you just don't know!  I appreciate the visit.

Blooming Fun!

I try to do Little Red Wagon's Challenge whenever I can, and this week it is #342, Blooming Fun.  It says to use flowers all different ways, including floral paper and embellishments.  That is exactly what I did.  I started with a kraft base, added a scrap of a pretty floral designer paper from my bin, and added 2 rows of a soft plaid, satin ribbon to break it up.  My large embellishment is a gift from my dear friend Carol, and is made by Prima.  My sentiment are Tim Holtz word dies and I inked them with Distress Ink for a faded look.

I see sun outside, so this may be a good day.  The gloomies have had everyone in a funk!  If you took the time to visit, I appreciate it.

Let's Do Show & Tell

The challenge sponsored by Unity Show & Tell, this week, is a photo inspiration.  It has to do with pretty colors and butterflies!  Ohhhh, so pretty!

This card started with a base of Innocent Pink card from Gina K. Designs.  I did a white layer that is embossed with a Darice frame folder.  The stamp set used is June of 2014 the Kit of the Month from Unity.  I used a large floral stamp from the kit on a panel of Rich Cocoa, using Unicorn White ink from Hero Arts.  Next, we have a SB die called Beaded ovals.  I used a butterfly diecut to stencil butterfly wings with Distress Ink.  I then stamped my sentiment and pretty butterfly for the KOM.  With a water brush and the Unicorn ink, I added white highlights.

Have a great Monday.....yes, I used great and Monday in the same sentence!  LOL!
