A Quick Unity Post!

It is going to be a busy weekend around here, despite all the predicted rain.  I wanted to be sure and get a post up for Friends with Flair, over on the Unity Blog.  It is my Friday addiction!

This card came about, while I was playing with a stencil and cleaning off some sponges.  That created my background.  I fell in love with this little mouse from the Unity set called Meow, Purr, Baa.  There is also a set called Roar, Grr, Eek, which I had to have.  I combined these 2 sets to make a matching game for my GS, and I never got to take a picture before he lost pieces.

Anyway, a few scraps and embellishments, and this card was a done deal.  The balloon dies are from PTI, and it was fun to give them twine strings.

I would also like to link this up for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Anything Goes, this week.

That is it for me today, Have a wonderful weekend!

Teacher Cards

My Darling GS will soon be moving to a new class in his school.  Right now he has 3 fantastic teachers who will need to be thanked.  I told my daughter that I had a new teacher set that I wanted to use and she allowed me to make the cards for them!

The stamp set and die are both from Papertrey Ink, and will come in handy for many years to come, since he is only two.

I used scraps of assorted papers, and those little border embossing folders, that I always forget about to create some texture.   I can't forget these cute little 3D pin wheels, by Recollections.

I then realized that the negative from my die cutting made a cute stencil, and I used it with assorted Distress Inks. There was an old SU! apple set buried in my closet, and I thought it would be cute to stamp one in the same colors, fussy cut it, and pop it up.  Some little blue gems finish it off. I may just make 2 more and keep them on hand for his next move.

These cards will be entered over at Pixie's Snippets Playground # 181/182, since I created with my bits.

I would also like to enter my first set of cards at the Cuttlebug Mania Challenge, called Sentimental Journey.  I have my thank you teacher sentiment, and used my embossing folders.

Hope you like what I have come up with!

Friends with Flair Time!

Happy Friday, gang!  Hubby is on a vacation day today, and we are going to go for a nice long ride.  This man needs to get away.  Anyway, here is my Friends with Flair post for this Friday.  I used my Unity KOM of June.  Started with a kraft card base, added a scrap of designer paper, and then pondered.  Yes, I am hooked on doing water color now.  I put all the stamps together, stamped in Distress Ink, and pulled it together with a water brush.  I had a bag of the Claudine Hellmuth little craft sticks, and decided I would try using one for a sentiment.  I kind of like it!   I added a few tiny gems to bring in the sparkle.

I would also like to enter this over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where this week the challenge is "Use you're favorite technique, and product".  Mine is water coloring, and Distress Ink

I appreciate the visit, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and week ahead!

Friends with Flair!

Another Friday has arrived, and it is time for Friends with Flair.  My card today uses stamps from the May KOM at Unity.  I created the little focal piece on watercolor paper, and framed it out with a negative from an SB die.  Starting with a white base, I added layers of designer papers from Basic Grey's, Indie Bloom.  I just love the colors and patterned in that collection, and I have truly been hoarding it. There was also a notebook punch used on a couple layers.  For embellishments I used May Arts leaf trim, mini Prima flowers, and gems from KI

Thanks for stopping by, and if you get a chance, check out the new and improved Unity website!

Sitting on the Dock........

.............and waiting, and waiting.  This was one of those cards that you can't get out of your head.  It uses lots of different elements, from different companies, but I think it came out cute in the end.

     Here is what I used:

Kraft base, embossed with Decorative Dots folder.
All Night Media wood grain stamp.
My dock image is from Art Impressions, and I do believe my sentiment is from River City.
The dies used are small sun from Lil Inkers, and the birds are from Impression Obsession.
I used whatever was on my sponges to create my background, and there is a bit of Copic coloring, and added touches of gel pen for foam.
The embellishments are bronze studs, and some hemp twine.

I would like to enter this at Pixie's Snippets Playground #180, since I used bits of white card and a scrap of pearlized card to create my sun.

As per my friend Carol's suggestion, I am also going to enter this at the Cuttlebug Mania Challenge, called "Sunny".  This is a new one to me.  Thanks, Carol!

We Need a Little Christmas!

I had a few minutes so I decided to create a couple of Christmas cards from scraps on my desktop.  I always have white card blanks on hand, but I found this piece of happy snowflake paper, that was just screaming to be used.  The two stamp sets used, are a small set with big words from Little Yellow Bicycle (MM400), and Santa and the light string from SU! Holiday Home.  My embellishments are snowflake sequins, and gems.  Inks are Positively Pink, and Mossy Meadow, also from SU!

These card are being entered over at Pixie's Snippets Playground #180 .  You are required to use snippets each time.  There is a gorgeous prize this time, which I would love to add to my collection!

My Friday Post

All month, I have been ramming to really get into my Unity May KOM and have some good playtime.  Well, May came and went, and I am still making a card here and there.  So, here is yet another creation from that kit  as I do one by one!

For Friends with Flair this week, I did another little card with Distress Inks as watercolors.  Here is what I used:

Papers:  Neenah Solar White card, Watercolor card from Crafters Companion, and designer paper    from Basic Grey.

Inks:  Distress Inks in Peeled Paint, Old Paper, and Ripe Persimmon, and a waterbrush.

Dies:  Lil Inker stitched mat dies

Embellishments:  Bronze metal gems form KI, and sparkle from a Stardust pen.

Stamps:  May KOM from Unity Stamp.

Thanks for taking time to stop by.  I always appreciate your comments!  Have a fun filled weekend.
